Ever wondered what happened to Remington Hotel in Newport City? Apparently, it has been revamped and has reopened its doors as Holiday Inn Express Manila Newport City.
The transformation is not in its full glory yet, but its official logo was unveiled last July 3. We also found out that it has everything a smart and on-the-go traveler needs!
HIExpress Manila or HIEX Manila is situated where Remington Hotel used to be. Yes, it’s right across Newport Mall!
This is the first and only Holiday Inn Express location in the country and it joins Resorts World Manila’s growing list of international hotel brands, which include Marriot Manila Hotel and the soon-to-open Hilton Manila, Sheraton Manila Hotel, and Hotel Okura Manila. We heard that all these hotels will eventually be interconnected. How exciting!
The hotel has a meeting room, a laundry room with coin-operated machines and ironing area, and a gym – facilities that matter most to travelers who want and need a smart traveling experience.
The meeting room tariff ranges from Php5,000 to Php8,000 with inclusions.

The interiors, room design, and amenities are all in accordance with the Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG) standards. Starting off with the bed, you’ll fall right asleep in it. The pillows are some of the best things in the room! You can choose between soft and firm pillows, so you can experience the HIExpress Manila signature sleep solution with the blackout curtains and a nice and cozy bedding.
The room with a queen-sized bed has a sofa bed, too. Just pull it out from underneath!

The rooms can come with a twin bed and a lounge chair, or a queen-sized bed with a sofa bed. However, both include a working space where you can focus and do your important stuff. Not only that, we got giddy because of the fact that the rooms have their own router, i.e. the Internet connection is really fast! I repeat, it’s really FAST!!!
