Eleanor & Park follows the story of two misfit teenagers living in Nebraska who meet one day at a school bus. Their friendship gradually evolves through comic books and mixtapes, until they both fall head over heels for each other despite all odds. The book is Rowell’s first young adult novel and has sold more than 1 million copies globally to date.

“This book is very close to my heart, and I’ve always felt very cautious about adapting it,” Rowell told Deadline. “But everyone at Picturestart and Plan B has so much respect for the story and the characters. I really feel like I couldn’t have found a better group of people to trust with Park and Eleanor — and I can’t wait to see this project come to life.”
