My Little Pony Friendship Fun to promote health, fitness, and friendship for young kids

Global Procurement Inc, co-presented by Toy Kingdom and under license from HASBRO thru Medialink, are set to stage the 2nd My Little Pony Friendship Run on February 24, 2019 (Sunday) at SM By The Bay, North Fountain, SM Mall of Asia as it promises another ponnyrific adventure for kids and their family.

According to GPI Marketing Director Marites Fragante, this year’s friendship run will be co-sponsored by Pepsi, 711’s Slurpee, Fundae and Shakeys.  While the run is aimed towards children, this is also open to parents and adults who wish to participate in this fitness activity.  Around 2,500-3,000 participants are expected to join the 2019 edition.

The event intends to promote friendship across kids from different age groups and will have three race categories – 1KM, 3KM, and 5KM.  Registration has begun since December 2018 both via online page (https://reg.goorahna.com/#/event/mlprunph-2019) and in-store walk-in courtesy of Chris Sports (SM MOA, SM Megamall, SM North EDSA, U.P. Town Katipunan, and BGC Uptown Mall).  Last-minute walk-in registrants may also sign up on actual race day between  4am- 5:30 am.

Each race category will be inclusive of race kits containing a singlet / racing shirt featuring a specially-designed My Little Pony artwork, sun visor, drawstring bag with wings , and race bib – rates are Php 700 for the 1KM category, and Php 800 and Php 900 each for 3KM and 5KM respectively.   A special rainbow-colored tutu is offered as an add-on for only Php 250.

Upon completion of each race category, runners will receive a special Finisher’s Medal which is a highly sought-after collector’s item and serves as a remembrance from this year’s friendship run.   Aside from this incentive, the Mane 6 mascots (Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Twilight Sparkle, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, and Fluttershy) are slated to make an onstage appearance for a rare meet and greet session for MLP fans young and old.

“This MLP Run let us experience the value of friendship through the popularity of My Little Pony Franchise where kids are all excited and looks forward to similar Friendship run in the future. ” said Fragante.   The event shall also feature different activities near the stage area courtesy of the friendship run sponsors.
