Puto Pao King – Puto and Siopao Rolled into One and in Lots of Different Flavors
If you like puto, and you like siopao, then Puto Pao King is a must-try for you. It’s such a unique concept, but when you think about it, it just makes so much sense to put puto and siopao together! Puto Pao King gives you the sweet, moist rice texture of puto but with an added twist – filling in the middle like siopao! With a variety of flavors from Blueberry and Cream Cheese to Tuna Melt, every member of your family will be able to find something just for them.
When you stop by Puto Pao King, I fully recommend getting the assorted puto pao box, which is what we had! Inside will be 6 different flavors(every one of them delicious!) – Original Asado, Blueberry Cream Cheese, Creamy Custard, Tuna Melt, Cheesy Queso, and Cream Cheese!
Original Asado
The classic Original Asado siopao flavor made an absolutely excellent flavor for puto pao. With the sweet taste of the puto, the salted egg on top, and the flavorful, meaty filling, the combination of flavors was as perfect as could be. The Original Asado puto pao may have been one of my favorites – but the other 5 delicious flavors to come made it hard to say for sure.
Blueberry & Cream Cheese
I think I may have mentioned in a previous review that I’m not much of a blueberry fan – but either my tastes are changing as I enter the next decade of my life, or these days, chefs are really figuring out how to reach the maximum threshold of deliciousness that blueberries have to offer. Either way, the blueberry and cream cheese puto pao was amazing – the sweet cream cheese just went perfectly with the tangy blueberries, and this puto pao was a dessert delicacy that anyone would have to love – even me, who thought she didn’t like blueberries!
Creamy Custard
The creamy custard puto pao provides another delicious dessert option. The custard, which has generous amounts both on top of the puto pao as well as inside as filling, has a very aromatic and delicious vanilla flavor. This is spectacular, in my opinion. When I’m baking, my trademark is to add a bit more vanilla than the recipe calls for as I just really love the stuff, so I really enjoyed the distinct vanilla flavor that this custard has!
