She would usually video call with her friends outside of the country at night to catch up with them, and she wanted to look presentable. Aya adds, “Well, it’s nice to wake up in the morning feeling beautiful, ready to face the day. We all need that boost. I found mine in sleepwear.”
Although Aya had no background in fashion, she would find herself sketching some sleep and loungewear designs during her free time inspired from the ones she sees on Pinterest. Wanting to delve into “something new”, that eureka moment soon came to her. “My friends and cousins liked what I drew, and they were the same people that inspired me to put up Private Storey.” Her products’ names are inspired from the ladies close to her heart, such as the Maxine, the bestseller – an old rose set widely loved for its feminine touch. And I couldn’t agree more!

Private Storey‘s sleepwear and loungewear is made of charmeuse silk, the softest fabric that is absolutely comfortable to last throughout the night or a day of relaxing. The 1st and 2nd collections were designs from her favorite Pinterest inspirations and color schemes. It transgressed to sexy ensembles in black come Halloween season, which was the Dark Desires Collection. Just in time to ring in the Yuletide cheer is the Holiday collection, which composes of the lively and festive colors of Christmas.

Keeping your head high on water is what inspires Aya to keep going, despite being new to the fashion scene. Aya also wanted to promote supporting local brands, Private Storey being one of them. The unique history of its name comes with that as she envisions big dreams not limited to the four corners of a room. “I want to go beyond those limits and emphasize a description of something big, abundant and variety [of my products]. For me, it’s fitting to describe a whole Storey of a building to describe the variety of my products in terms of design, colors etc.”
