Potterheads, Are You Ready for the 2018 Yule Ball?

YuleBall18

The most awaited month of the year is coming and what better way to start the holiday festivities than by attending a Yule Ball? Whether you are a Muggle, or a witch or a wizard; you are welcome to attend Patronus Events’ Yule Ball 2018.

YuleBall14

Houses from all over the Philippines will reunite in a spectacular event to celebrate one of the most loved novels ever written. I am a huge— as in HUGE fan of Harry Potter, so imagine my happiness to have been able to get a sneak peek of what is to come at the Yule Ball 2018.

I literally geeked out the moment my best friend and I stepped into the magical world of Privatus Private Dining in Pasig.

In my 10 years of being a Potterhead, this is actually the first legit Harry Potter event that I attended. The place was turned into a version of Hogsmeade with elements of the HP universe at all corners.

What really caught my attention during the event was their wide array of Harry Potter-inspired dishes and drinks created by Executive Chef Antonio Jose Reyes and Mixologist Mark Anthony Marquez as a sneak preview of their menu for the upcoming Yule Ball. Here are the dishes that we look forward to:

YuleBall11

Golden Egg Custard

According to their menu, the Golden Egg Custard is best eaten underwater to hear the merfolk sing. True enough, everyone will sing with every bite of this egg custard with crab meat and fish roe.

Molly’s Magical Meat Pie

What’s an English feast without a meat pie? Much more, it wouldn’t be complete without the Weasley matriarch’s Magical Meat Pie. This famous dish from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is the perfect Christmas pastry for the Yule Ball. Ron Weasley’s favorite pie is made with oxtail, bacon, and mystery ingredients only known to worthy wizards.

YuleBall6

Hogwarts Christmas Ham

No Christmas feast is complete without ham. This has always been a personal favorite of mine. Chef Antonio made sure that their ham is ultra juicy – perfect for a gathering around at the Great Hall.

YuleBall8

Roasted Diricawl with Stuffing

Another personal favorite, this rare creature is best eaten with red wine and stuffing. Cooked in a magical oven, you won’t get enough of this dish.

YuleBall15

Butterbeer

Everyone’s favorite Hogsmeade drink, butterbeer, is the star of the banquet. You can have it with a kick of alcohol or without. The latter might be the best choice if you don’t want your professors to take points away from your house.

Try out everything listed above on December 14, 2018, 8PM, at La Castellana, Intramuros, Manila for a magical night of dancing and merrymaking, especially curated for my fellow Potterheads. Don’t forget to come in your best suits and gowns! Bringing of wands is optional since Death Eaters are banned from entering the premises through a complicated magical spell.
