Sykes Asia, Inc. employees from all over Metro Manila gathered all together at the SMX last December 13, wearing their most striking “futuristic” look, for their much awaited year-end celebration entitled, “SYKES FUTURE FORWARD: The SYKES 2015 Year-End Celebration”. The vibe at halls 1-4 of the SMX that night, was like entering a galactic Star Wars-like futuristic movie with neon pulsating lights, people wearing beautiful stunning metallic outfits, plus ambient trance music to further set the mood.
In case you didn’t know, in 1997, SYKES made history by being the first call center to support Filipino talent, making them the pioneers/trailblazers in the BPO industry. SYKES swiftly expanded its sites as well as workforce in less than 10 years since they began operations. SYKES continued its pioneer mark as it became the first call center to operate in Cebu in 2003. After 18 years (with no signs of slowing down) and with over 13,000 employees strong, SYKES continues to innovate and provide excellent customer, technical and back office support to its clients.
Because of their genuine care, concern and gratitude for the sheer devotion of their team this year, SYKES made sure the night was monumental with a program packed with dance numbers, awards, an epic performance by Pinoy iconic band Parokya Ni Edgar and over 2 Million worth of prizes in the form of today’s latest gadgets and huge amounts of cash that went as big as 150K!!! Yup, you read it right…. P150,000 in cold cash! There were also 2 lucky winners of P100k each! That’s how generous they are to their employees!

As part of SYKES’ effort in supporting work-life balance of its employees, SYKES annually recognizes their organizations with the “SYKES CHOICES Club” award. For this year, it was the org SYKESClista which bagged the trophy!
Four teams from various SYKES sites namely, Tribe of the Future, The B Crew, A LIST and True Sight of the Kaleidoscope flaunted their creativity and dancing skills in their annual dance competition held every year-end celebration. Talented SYKESers exert heaps of time and effort to produce jaw-dropping production numbers to wow the crowd and to win a year’s worth of bragging rights!
True Sight of the Kaleidoscope was awarded as this year’s group dance competition champions for their electrifying performance!
In their commitment to keep their employees looking fit and fabulous, SYKES even held a 100-day fitness camp called SYKES Fit & Fab Weight Loss Challenge. After losing 59.4lbs or almost 28% of his total body weight, Whally Boy De Leon was awarded as grand winner! As prize, he was given a trip for 2 to Boracay!
Talking about the coolest bosses…. SYKES heads surprised everyone with a performance action fight scene a la Star Wars complete with Jedi attire and lightsabers. The force was definitely strong in this one. Can’t get any cooler than this!
And then, there was Parokya ni Edgar, who rocked the night with their greatest hits….
The crowd, composed of SYKESers, SYKES executives, admins and even members of the academe surged forward and back in one relentless wave as they sang-along with Parokya ni Edgar frontman, Chito Miranda.
Parokya Ni Edgar hits such as Buloy, Mr. Suave, Picha Pie and even a cover song from Moonstar88 and more thrilled the crowd so much, that the band ended up playing more songs than their usual repertoire. The music roared through the SMX halls and SYKESers would go crazy song after song. The stage was a constant flurry of excitement with a mood that’s ecstatic and upbeat throughout the show. No doubt, everyone enjoyed every moment!
This event was truly worth the experience!
