BlockchainSpace together with The Sandbox are launching PINASining II, the second voxel contest for creators and aspiring artists of the Philippines to build Philippines-themed voxel assets for the Metaverse. Submissions can be entered May 24 – June 18 with voting taking place June 19 – 25 and a grand prize pool of US$1000 to be won in $SAND cryptocurrency tokens.
The first PINASining was held from March – April and attracted more than 20 contestants to submit Philippines-themed voxel creations which featured iconic Filipino figures such as Manny Pacquiao (by MardanGameDev) and figures from Filipino folklore such as the Mystic Duwende (by focc_x). The winning submission from an artist named “iLaSining” created a “Sorbetes Ice Cream Cart”, that resonated with local artists and received the majority of votes.
What is The Sandbox
The Sandbox is a decentralized virtual world that uses voxels to create immersive 3D worlds similar to Minecraft and Roblox. The Sandbox adds a critical new element to 3D worlds by storing game assets on the Ethereum blockchain. With this, creators can now own, trade and and monetize the creations that they build. The Sandbox’s marketplace, allows creators to sell or trade items on a secondary market.
Who is BlockchainSpace
BlockchainSpace has been an education hub for blockchain and cryptocurrency in the Philippines since 2018, helping to educate and guide newcomers to the space.
