Definitely, When In Manila, you must ride the ubiquitous symbol of the Philippine culture and art – Jeepney.

As luck would have it, the Philippine International Motor Show or #PIMS2016 opened its event to the public yesterday, September 14, 2016, to present 17 car manufacturers showcasing their performance-inspired and modified automotive units at the World Trade Convention Centre in Pasay City.

Essentially, this event is open to EVERYONE who would like to take a sneak peak of the most futuristic designs or fuel-efficient cars of different car manufacturers in the Philippines.

To start, the Daewoo Bus showcased their progressive and high-agility bus units by letting people experience it by checking out the interiors, design, and space.

I was just in time to witness how Nissan opened the floor with an extravagant orchestra-inspired show. According to Nissan, their sales went up higher this year.

With so much joy, Honda Cars Philippines’ presented their jaw-dropping Honda McLaren MP4-30 racing beast!

The McLaren Honda F1 car certainly got everyone hooked!

After Honda’s timeless and powerful car presentation, Peugeot (pew-joe) got me listening when they mentioned about how legendary and innovative their cars are!

In line with Mercedez Benz’s 130th Anniversary in the industry, they showcased E-class.

As mentioned by one of the representatives, the yellow SUV beside this Rubicon was the same model Bruce Wayne was driving in the movie Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. Nevertheless, this Rubicon 4-door CRD has a 17-inch rim size, equipped with rock rails and a 9-Speaker Alpine system. Need I say more? Under the hood of this Jeep is 2.8 l4 Turbo Diesel Engine.

When it comes to award-winning luxury cars, BMW is definitely present. For the first time in the Philippines, BMW is showcasing its i8 and described it as a “technological milestone” as it offers full force sports car experience, however, a fuel-efficient unit. The doors are made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP), BMW explained.

Meanwhile, the Toyota Motor Philippines stole the show when Arnel Pineda started singing Bon Jovi’s: “You Give Love a Bad Name.”

Toyota Motor Philippines is known as one of the most reliable car manufacturers not only here but worldwide.

President Satoru Suzuki mentioned in his opening remarks how Toyota cars are now reinforced and engineered to help you move forward.

One of the cars showcased at the Toyota booth is Jericho Rosales’ racing car. During TMP’s 28th Anniversary last week, they unveiled new features and a better Vios with NR series Engine equipped with Dual VVT-i and CVT, which according to them, is the “best to date.”

Toyota’s 4th-generation Prius was finally launched at the event as well. This is to represent their hybrid technology cars or under the New Global Architecture or TNGA platform. I have yet to test drive this, so watch out for the full write-up.
