Pia Wurtzbach On ‘No Makeup’ Selfie: “Life’s too short to be unkind to yourself”

#AsSheIs is the latest challenge that’s been taking over Instagram, and this one has a message behind it that deserves to be heard. Aiming to encourage women to be more “vulnerable and real”, the challenge asks for women to post their bare-faced selfies as a way to embrace every little part of themselves.

It has recently gained traction in the Philippines with different celebrities and public figures joining in. First, there was Miss Universe Catriona Gray who shared that “loving yourself as you are is a journey, but it’s a journey worth taking.” Now, another Miss Universe has joined the fray.

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach recently shared a no-makeup selfie on her Instagram. “Everyday, we all struggle to be comfortable with our imperfections,” she captioned.

“But today, I’m taking this picture to say hello to ME. Just me. No makeup. No glam team. No styling. And I’m happy with what I see,” Pia wrote.

She ended the thought with: “Life’s too short to be unkind to yourself. So treat your face and your body as an instrument, not an ornament. An instrument to inspire, uplift, and encourage yourself and others who need it.”
