By Keith Carandang

Prepare to say Ooh La La! And Tres Bien! As we give you a special sneak peek to Clivia Nobili’s Beau Travail work wear collection! PhilFrance Fashion Week was held from February 13-16, but an exhibit curated by Frederic Delhove can be enjoyed until March 18 at the 8th floor of the School of Design and Arts of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.

The exhibit is dedicated to valuable creations by French designers Yves Saint Laurent, Jean-Paul Gaultier and Jeanne Lanvin, as well as original pieces by John Galliano, Christian Dior, Givenchy, Jean Charles de Castelbajac, Marithe+Francois Girbaud, Anna and Tumoas Laitinen, and Daniel Jasiak.

Now for the good stuff: the clothes! This collection is mesmerising because it is not only fashionable, but functional, too! Most people think foreign designs aren’t wearable here in the Philippines because of our different culture, climate, and style; but French Cultural Councilor Yves Zoberman points out that the Filipinos and the French are actually not very different: we are happy and positive and, despite our differences, we are all alike.

Right off the bat, the clothes are phenomenal. The bright colors already look at home in our tropical climate and would not be out of place in our closets.  Another plus is just how fun it would be to style each piece everyday!
