Here’s your chance to showcase your acting skills and channel your inner Popoy or Basha! The Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) opened a casting call for “One More Chance: The Musical,” which is slated in April 2024, featuring songs from OPM band Ben&Ben.
On Monday, November 20, they announced that they’re looking for applicants to portray the roles of Popoy, Basha, the Thursday Barkada, and other characters from the 2007 hit movie.
“Applicants must submit 16 bars, or 1 stanza and 1 chorus, of the best part of any Ben&Ben or OPM song, along with 4 bars of choreography to any contemporary modern music,” they wrote.
According to PETA’s casting brief, those who will audition for the role of Popoy must channel a male engineer in his 20s described as a “go-getter” and someone who “always needs to be in control.”
Meanwhile, for the role of Basha, auditionees must resemble an architect and shirt designer in her 20s described as someone who “bottles up her emotions for the common good or to avoid confrontation.”

Applicants should submit a video including an introduction, song audition, dance audition, as well as curriculum vitae to the QR code provided in the casting brief. You can view it here.
PETA said the deadline for all casting submissions will be November 26 at 11:59 p.m. There will also be live auditions from December 4 to 5 from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the PETA Theater Center, while callbacks will be held from December 12 to 13 at the same time and venue.

“One More Chance: The Musical” was announced during the closing performance of “Walang Aray” in October, with a surprise performance from Ben&Ben.
