Papa John’s Pizza Philippines: Robinson’s Galleria Veranda’s Garlic Butter Sauce Goodness

When In Manila and feeling the urge to satisfy your pizza cravings, Papa John’s Robinson’s Galleria is the best place to visit. I’ve always wanted to check out the food at Papa John’s when I saw their branch near our school along Taft Avenue, so when this opportunity came along, I did not hesitate to say yes to visit and try out the food offered by Papa John’s. Fortunately, my initial expectations were met.

At first, I wanted to bring my family with me but they were not available to join on that date so I just brought some friends. It was difficult for us to look for the exact location of Papa John’s since we’re not that familiar with the area but the search was worth it. We were welcomed by their friendly staff and attentive crew coupled by their comfortable interiors.

It was a quaint yet comfortable area but me and my friends thought that the place was quite small inside for the number of customers they have. However, they have more seats outside to cover but they have seats outside for their visitors. We cannot wait to taste their food so we took a seat right away.

To start, we opted to have some soup and bread sticks. We ordered their Cream of Mushroom (Php 49.00) with chunks of mushrooms and croutons and their Cream of Chicken soup (Php 49.00) with grilled chicken bits and corn kernels. Both soups were creamy. They were served hot but not too hot so that you can eat it immediately. It was the best way to start the meal. Well, I thought it was, until we tasted their Breadsticks (Php 70.00). Their breadsticks was not the usual kind shaped like actual pretzel sticks. Theirs was freshly baked bread with mozzarella cheese and their mouth watering garlic pizza sauce. Upon sinking our teeth on the sumptuous bread, it felt as if we had our main course already.

Together with the appetizers came our drinks. Me and my friend ordered their Green Apple and Passion Fruit Italian Soda (Php 69.00) while our other friend opted for the Vanilla Ice Cream float. I was not able to taste the float but I bet it was equally good as their Italian Sodas as well. It has this cool and refreshing tinge to it. It was definitely a must drink!

Since I’m a pasta lover we did not forget to order some. I love cream sauce and white sauces, so guess what we ordered? Yes, Carbonara pasta (Php 180.00). Their other pastas seemed tasty as well, but I’ve always loved carbonara. Fortunately, Papa John’s Galleria did not fail me. Their cream sauce was not bland. It was thick and creamy with just the right amount of parmesan cheese, bacon, mozzarella cheese, and mushroom. Yum yum yum!

Another course we ordered was their Baked Rice with Mushroom and Chicken. You may ask why we ordered this food since not most Italian inspired restaurants would offer such course. Well, how it appeared in their menu was very attractive so we wanted to test how tasty it was and then again, Papa John’s Robinson’s Galleria did not fail us. The rice was cooked right, not too hard and not too sloppy. The cream sauce, garlic pepper, mushrooms, mozzarella cheese, and grilled chicken concoction were nearly perfect! Every bite was worth it. It was the first food we had which was finished in a matter of minutes!

Lastly, we our pizza came in. I have heard a lot about how good Papa John’s pizzas were. Being protein lovers, we ordered their All The Meats Pizza (Php 450.00). It had everything in it from pepperoni, Italian Sausage, Beef bits, Ham, Bacon, and of course, some lip-smacking mozzarella cheese. Even the looks of it makes me want to salivate already. As if that was enough good news, what surprised me was their garlic sauce. The waiter said it goes well with their pizza crust. Boy was he right! Our usual pizza tray with uneaten crust was now empty. Thanks to their garlic pizza sauce! Not to mention that their medium sized pizza was so big it can fee around 4 to 6 people.

I went there on a Monday after work and I never knew it would be a good after work activity. It was the best way to end the day with a couple of conversations and laughter with my friends and the good food to keep us company. I would definitely not hesitate to go back to Papa John’s Robinsons Galleria any time soon. When In Manila, I suggest you try to visit them as well. You would definitely enjoy their good food and affordable food, their exceptional service, and their unforgettable garlic pizza sauce!
