Paolo Ballesteros’ National Costume Design Is Among This Year’s Bb. Pilipinas Top 10

Binibining Pilipinas just announced the Top 10 Best in National Costume 2021. Honey Cartasano, the representative of Rizal at this year’s pageant, was among those who made it. The “Higantes Queen” graced her costume inspired by Maria Clara and the giants of Angono’s Higantes festival designed by Paolo Ballesteros.

According to the GMA artist and host, “the material used is traditional piña highlighting its remarkable characteristic, the fibrosity. As she turns around, Maria Clara is transformed into a bright, colorful, and towering Higantes we see during the annual parade. A unique piece, emblematic of Rizal’s rich culture.” Ballesteros is also Cartasano’s creative director.
