Paire: Cocktails and Desserts: The Perfect Pairing

WHEN IN MANILA, some pairings are just a match made in heaven. Like bread and butter, peanut butter and jelly, me and Taylor Lautner (I kid, I kid!)

Most of the food pairings that we enjoy are already set in stone. They were already paired up even before we were introduced to the world so we eat it but not necessarily enjoy it as it is known to mankind. But two brave souls wanting to think out of the box and introduce Filipinos with something exotic  decided to defy both gravity and history and pair up the unthinkable—cocktails and pastries.

Paire: Cocktails and Pastries puts a unique twist in food pairings by pairing up sinful cocktails with sweet pastries that are just to die for. So on one sunny afternoon, my friend Wilamy and I decided to check out this unique spot in the metro.

As soon as Wilamy and I stepped inside Paire, we couldn’t help but gush over the super cute and chic interiors.

After attending to school and work duties in the morning, we were famished and can’t wait to try out the unique dishes Paire has to offer.

Before trying out Paire’s sweet pairings, we tried out some of Paire’s finger foods first.

While waiting for our food, we sipped on Paire’s flavorful Lemongrass Iced Tea and chatted about girl stuff.

The first dish that we tried was Paire’s Ligid (Crispy Pork.) This crossbreed of Filipino faves Lechon and Chicharon is just sinfully good. Once you start poppin’, you just can’t stop yourself from grabbing for more.

Paire’s Chili Wraps are as sinfully good as their Ligid. The dip is just amazeballs!

Like my momma, I’m a huge fan of wings and Paire’s Buffalo Wings is no exception.

To end our scrumptious meal, we tried out three of Paire’s sweet pairings and I must say these were definitely the highlight of the day.

Paire’s A Fine Paire is the perfect example of the exotic dishes Paire offers to their customers. With spinach hiding inside this soft pastry, who would have thought that this pairing would turn out to be oh so drool-worthy. And that sparkling lemon juice is a perfect match to the pastry.

As soon as I sank my teeth into Paire’s Class A, I knew that there would be absolutely no words to explain this magical dish. If you want to get a taste of heaven, then this dessert is definitely a must try! If you want to forget about all the problems in the world, then this dessert is definitely a must try! If you’re bored like crazy, then this dessert is definitely a must try! Seriously, I can’t stress this enough, this dessert is a must try. So. Good.

Paire’s Ben & Etta is perfect for those slow rainy day afternoons where there’s absolutely nothing to do but sit back and enjoy the weather. Sit near the window to get the perfect view for such a perfect pairing.

Paire: Cocktails and Desserts is the perfect example of a restaurant that took a risk and has paid off mighty well. So when you’re looking for something new, craving for something exotic or want to enjoy a magical experience, head on over to Paire: Cocktails and Desserts WHEN IN MANILA.
