On a three-day online convention, June 2 to 4, 2021, Civil Engineering students have participated to test and enhance their engineering skills and knowledge in five main activities namely CONNECT: Bridge Building Competition; CONVEY: Research Competition; CONSTRUCT: Tower Making Contest; CONQUER: General Engineering Quiz Bee; and, the CE Symposium.

CONNECT: Bridge Building Competition is one of the activities that students have shown their skills and knowledge, and expressing aesthetics to their incredible bridges. Among the participants, King Guio Paguia (Batangas State University), Ryan Joseph Sikat (Technological University of the Philippines-Manila), and China Janel Pepito (Technological Institute of the Philippines-QC) have taken the spots for the most aesthetic bridges.

Civil Engineering students from FEU Institute of Technology (Richard Andres, Jason James Robin, Jose Florenz Somigao, and John Robert Tapada) won first place for the CONVEY: Research Competition with their winning paper “WEPyro Tech: Micro Waste-to-Energy Pyro Technology for Municipal Rural Areas,” followed by students from University of Batangas (Derek John Jaime Aclan, Ivan Dominic Gonzaga, Gladys Leonor, and Raizel Anne Manansala) that competed their “Impact of Sugarcane Bagasse Ash and Saw Dust Ash as Partial Replacement of Cement on Strength and Properties of Cement” research paper.

Indestructible with aesthetic designs were showcased in CONSTRUCT: Tower Making Contest and students Raymond Rosary (Technological University of the Philippines-Manila), Abeanne Kaye Corcuera (FEU Institute of Technology), and Dhen Mariz Mendoza (University of Batangas) are the top three winners of this competition.

In CONQUER: General Engineering Quiz Bee, battle of their wits were witnessed as we watched finest students from participating schools to compete for the top seat. Julian Rikki Reyes (Don Honorio Ventura State University) has conquered the arena and won first place, followed by Pangasinan State University students Mansour Aguas and Daniel Rhey Rico.
