Up Your Dalgona Game with These 7 Non-Coffee Dalgona Recipes

Dalgona Coffee is a buzzword that’s been going around with many people attempting to make them during quarantine. It’s basically whipped coffee that uses three ingredients— instant coffee, sugar, and water— and a lot of muscle. Or a mixer, if you’re lucky to have one.

Once done, you can plop your Dalgona Coffee— fluffy and with a marshmallow-like consistency and all, on top of your choice of milk and serve. However, if you’re not a fan of coffee; we’ve put together a list of non-coffee Dalgona drinks instead. The best part is that it doesn’t require as much arm work this time around.

Make this drink by whipping together 4 Tbsp of Milo powder, 2 Tbsp of brown sugar, and 3 Tbsp of hot water. Serve on top of full cream milk and ice cubes. If you’d like, you can even top it off with more Milo for a satisfying crunch.

6. Dalgona Nutella

Nutella is nutty— as its name goes— sweet, indulgent, and rich in hazelnut flavors. Trust us: it’s easy to make this Dalgona version. All you need are two ingredients: a spoonful of Nutella and 1/3 of a cup of heavy whipping cream. No sugar is needed for this as the Nutella is already sweet as is. Whip it until  it’sfluffy, and smear the rim of your mug with more Nutella. Pour in your milk, finish off with ice, and top with your fluffy Nutella mix.

3. Dalgona Cookie Butter

Not everyone is over with the cookie butter trend yet. This buttery cookie comes with notes of heady cinnamon and the illusion of a nutty taste despite not containing any peanuts at all. A Cookie Butter Dalgona will do the trick for those who want something a little different. To make this, you need 2-3 spoonfuls of melted Biscoff spread⁣ and 1/2 cup of whipped cream⁣. If you want it extra sweet, feel free to add 1 tbsp of Sugar. Whip it until it’s fluffy, and serve it over iced milk with a Biscoff cookie on the side.

2. Dalgona Milk Tea

Can’t get enough of milk tea? Same here. Thankfully, you can always make your own at home. Bonus: you can jazz it up Dalgona-style. To make your very own fluffy milk tea, add 2 tbsp of Thai milk tea powder (or any milk tea powder, for that matter), 2 tbsp of white sugar, and 2 tbsp of hot water, then whisk or whip it until it’s fluffy. Serve it over iced milk, and enjoy! (Tip: you can add boba to your drink for the full milk tea experience!)

1. Dalgona Strawberry

A lot of people loved strawberry milk as kids. Treat yourself to some nostalgic fruity sweetness by making your very own Dalgona strawberry milk drink. It’ll taste just like strawberries and cream, and have a pretty shade of pink. To make it, all you need is 1 tbsp of Strawberry Nesquik (or any strawberry powder) and 4 tbsp of heavy whipping cream. In the words of Valentina Mussi, the influencer who created this recipe, “mix it until your arm is numb”. Serve over your choice of hot or iced milk.
