There is no better relief than good food on a stressful day. While others might prefer indulging in their favorite comfort food like ice cream or burgers; sometimes, letting yourself go at buffets can be more cathartic than what you think. Picture this: hundreds of dishes to choose from, and nothing stopping you from trying each one of them. Can life get even better? Well, it can be, when the dishes served are all high quality cuisines prepared by top culinary geniuses delivered right to your seat.

Niu’s cozy private space

Located at the 6th floor of SM Aura, Niu is the latest addition to Vikings‘ fast growing chain of eat-all-you-can restaurants. With its posh interiors and array of international cuisines, Niu promises a premiere dining experience to all of its customers. Compared to its sister restaurants, Niu’s ambiance is more refined, almost the same as that of 5-star hotels. They also offer sleek private spaces, which are perfect for intimate dinners and important meetings.

One of these, please.

With nine different stations to boot, Niu’s food selection is definitely something to look forward to. From Pan Asian cuisine to more Westernized dishes, they made sure that they would only offer the best of the best, acquiring an impressive list of world class chefs, like Chef Kavino Lao of IMC Kavino, and Anton Abad, Vikings’ executive chef. They also made sure that they would only be using premium ingredients, and that each dish is handcrafted up to the simplest details.

The Dragon Roll

With rates starting from Php 1,088 for weekday lunches and Php 1,388 for dinners and weekends, you’ll definitely get an experience that’s worth every single penny. From the usual buffet favorites of Japanese selections — sushi, maki, and sashimi — to the more rare choices like Foie Gras, they surely have something for everyone. If you’re feeling carnivorous, they also have an impressive assortment of meat such as lambs, ribs, turkey, and chicken, which you can easily pair up with their various sauces like the wild mushroom sauce or the classic gravy.

Carnivores, unite!

Alongside their carnivorous dishes, they also have a wonderful selection of salads to balance everything out. They also have a nice pizza selection, all of which are cooked on a special brick oven, where they also bake their baguettes and breads. If you are craving for something more Asian, their Chinese section is something worth checking out. With their siomai, soft tofu, and hakaw, you’ll find yourself stuffed and happy with pure Chinese goodness.

For order only: Pan seared beef medallion stuffed with gorgonzola with deconstructed hollandaise

Craving for something but can’t find it on the buffet table? Niu also serves dishes that are for order only, such as the pan seared beef medallion. One of the best main courses that you could ever have. The blend of the mashed potato, asparagus, carrot, egg, and beef wrapped in bacon is just perfect, complementing the taste and texture of each other. You can also order the Dragon Roll with wasabi aioli oyster teppan, apple salsa and mango pinakurat for a different sushi experience, offering you an interesting combination of flavours from mango to wasabi to apple.

Now let’s tap that sweet tooth, shall we?

End your meal with something sweet from their dessert section. From cakes to gelatto and fondue, this particular section is noticeably more upscale compared to others. We highly recommend their creme brulee, which has the ideal amount of crispiness on top and creamy goodness inside. Their cheesecakes are also of better quality than what we usually find in buffets. Here, they are able to capture the exact fluffiness and moistness that makes a cheesecake good to begin with.

Thirsty? Don’t worry.

With all of the eating going on, a nice refreshing drink is in order. Aside from their usual iced teas and sodas, you can also order some wine to accompany your meal. You can ask their servers to recommend the best type of wine that would suit your preference. They also have double chilled draft beer which is frozen below 0 degrees, giving a new touch to your favorite beverage.

If you want cocktails, you can also order one from their friendly bartender who will be more than glad to whip up your favorite margarita. They also have a variety of teas that you can gulp down after you get pregnant from the food. Craving for some coffee? They also have world class espresso machines, ready to serve a hot americano for a quick caffeine fix.
