In the past, it was discovered that an inmate in the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) was able to live a luxurious life inside the prison. Additionally, he was even able to shoot a music video inside his cell.
The recent raid that happened last December 21, 2015, in the NBPÂ revealed two swimming pools and a hidden lounge in the area.
Additionally, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) found and confiscated expensive aquarium fish and hamsters; flat-screen television sets, refrigerators, chest freezers, DVD players, sound systems, and gambling equipment, according to a report on GMA News.
Some of the appliances have stickers identifying them as BuCor equipment. According to BuCor director Rainier Cruz, some BuCor employees file requests for the appliances, then rent or sell them to inmates.
One of the swimming pools discovered was located on the rooftop, which looks similar to a resthouse. It had a lounge filled with narra furniture.
It is the ninth Bilibid raid held in recent weeks.
