Neri Naig-Miranda Offers Message of Hope to All Moms Who’ve Suffered Miscarriages

Actress Neri Naig-Miranda offered a message of hope to all moms who, like her, have suffered a miscarriage during pregnancy.

Neri took to Instagram to commemorate four years since she lost her first child with husband Chito Miranda. Posting a photo of an ultrasound, she said, “May 27, 2015.

(“May 27, 2015. Chito and I had an ultrasound for our first baby. June 3, 2015, our baby lost its heartbeat.”)

She expressed how angry and frustrated she felt during that time, even admitting that she somehow lost faith in God. “Devastated. I was so angry at the world and even to God at the time),” she wrote.

Bakit?! (Why?! That was the question I kept asking Him. Why did he deny me the chance at motherhood?),” she added.

She then told all the moms who have experienced the same thing she did that it’s okay to be angry. The only important thing is that they don’t lose faith. “Alam ko ang pakiramdam ng nawalan. Sobrang sakit. Pero malalagpasan mo rin yan. Darating ang tamang panahon na talagang ipagkakaloob ni God sayo (I know how it feels to lose a child. It hurts. But you will get through it. God’s perfect timing will happen),” she said.

Patience is a virtue ika nga.”

(“It’s okay to release your frustrations. But don’t give up. Don’t lose faith in yourself and in God. You may be tired of hearing this, but it’s true that everything has a reason and it’s true that what is meant for us will come. Patience is a virtue, so they say.”)

And her patience definitely paid off because, only a year after, she successfully became pregnant with their son Miggy.

Neri ended her post with words of comfort. Sobrang sakit. Pero bumangon ako at nanalig kay God.”

(“To all who have suffered or are suffering the loss of their babies, I offer a tight embrace. I may not be able to get rid of the hurt you must be feeling right now, but I just want to say that I understand your pain. I’ve felt it. It hurt me. But I got up and kept my faith in God.”)
