When Muhammad Ali, also known as The Greatest and the Sportsman of the Century, is on your side, you know your odds of winning a match are higher. That’s the case with Manny Pacquiao, who earned Ali’s vote in his upcoming match with Floyd Mayweather. As early as now, people are calling it the “fight of the century,” and everyone’s excited.
The news was revealed by Ali’s daughter Rashida, who shared her father’s sentiments on TMZ. According to her:
My dad is Team Pacquiao all the way! My dad really likes Manny. He’s a huge fan of his. He knows Manny’s a great fighter … but it’s more about what he does outside the ring. He’s such a charitable person.
It’s interesting to note that while Ali is #TeamPacquiao, it’s Mayweather who’s copying Ali’s flamboyant personality. But Rashida says that there’s no comparison between Pacquiao and Mayweather. Meanwhile, Ali’s other daughter Laila is on Mayweather’s side. She said that Mayweather’s skills will be too much for the Filipino champ.
Sadly, Ali won’t be able to watch the fight of the century live because of his Parkinson’s disease. Instead, he will be watching the fight on pay-per-view.
