Mrs. K's Deco Pastries: First Customizable Character Deco Paos in the Metro!

We love our food (and taking #foodporn photos of it)! And it takes the notch higher if it’s too cute to eat just like these character deco paos from Mrs. K’s Deco Pastries.

The cutest character paos we’ve seen! We’ve squealed when we opened the boxes and found Harry Potter, Elsa and Olaf, Kevin, Stuart and Bob, and a lot more!

The creator of these yummy cuties is Kristel Saab-Padua, or Mrs. K for short. Mrs. K is a stay-at-home mom who got her inspiration for her deco paos from their family travel in Japan. She incorporated Japan’s kawaii culture in making the paos and it all started with a Santa Claus siopao that she created so her kid will be enticed to eat.

Kristel started selling her creations last December 2014, just in time for the holidays. Her first collection of paos were Christmas-themed, ranging from Santas to Christmas trees. And since then, the orders poured in and some of her customers became regulars. She then ventured into creating more designs and bringing more characters to her customers’ tables.

These deco paos are highly popular with kids! It’s great for parties and also a unique alternative to cupcakes, plus everything (yes, all of it!) is edible. But trust me, it was difficult to take the first bite because it was too cute!

Mrs. K’s deco paos comes in savory flavors – there’s Pork Asado, Chicken Teriyaki and Beef Teriyaki. There’s also the sweet variety of Choco Nutella and Custard. Have a character that you want made, you can ask Mrs. K to customize it for you! Awesome, right? I also believe she’s the first one who does customized paos.

Every decopao is made with love and with great attention to details. The deco paos are priced at Php55-95.00 depending on the design and its complexity.
