In Mitasu, quality is guaranteed as their meats are imported straight from the USA! Their meat is also only slightly marinated to highlight its natural flavors. Plus, their meat has the right balance of lean and fat. (Trust us, it’s flavorful and melts in your mouth!) We highly recommend trying the premium meats that are not included in the promo, but are available in the regular menu.

So, how can you make the most out of your yakiniku experience? By eating it the right way, of course! Mitasu shares these steps on how to eat Japanese yakiniku correctly:

How to Eat Japanese Yakiniku the Right Way

1. Mix your sweet and spicy dipping sauce.

What sets Mitasu apart from other Japanese restaurants is their special sauce that is essential in completing your yakiniku experience! Begin by pouring the soy sauce into your dipping bowl.

Next, pour the sweet sauce!

Lastly, mix them all together! For the best sauce, Mitasu recommends a 70/30 ratio for the sweet sauce and soy sauce, respectively.

2. Cook your meat on the charcoal grill using the tongs.

Using Mitasu’s smokeless charcoal grill, cook your desired meat using the tongs. It’s highly advised that you use tongs when picking up uncooked meat instead of chopsticks to avoid contamination. The grill can also be very hot, so the tongs allow you to cook from a safer distance. (For those that don’t like cooking, don’t worry, because the servers can grill for you instead.)

The best part about cooking over charcoal? The charcoal enhances the flavor of the meat and makes it even more delicious.

3. While waiting for your meat to cook, you may enjoy the delicious side dishes.

Mitasu has a variety of side dishes available for you to eat while waiting for your meat to cook. They highly recommend starting your meal off with their miso soup so you can warm your stomach!

If you’re not feeling like yakiniku, they also offer a variety of delicious dishes in their a-la-carte menu such as sushi, sashimi, ramen, and set meals.

4. Once your meat is cooked, use your chopsticks to pick it up.

Once the meat is cooked just the way you like it, it’s time to get it off the grill! Again, to avoid contamination, it’s best to use your chopsticks when picking up your cooked meat.

5. Dip your cooked meat in the sweet and spicy sauce!

What distinguishes Korean barbecue from Japanese yakiniku is definitely this step! Unlike Korean barbecue, Japanese yakiniku is dipped into a special sauce and enjoyed right away (without having to wrap the meat in lettuce). Mitasu recommends dipping only 30% of the meat in the special sauce so as not to overpower its flavors!

6. Eat and enjoy!

When done, you can finally eat your yakiniku! Enjoy it alongside your rice and side dishes. Yum!

Don’t forget to save room for dessert! Their coffee jelly is the perfect way to end your meal. (We couldn’t get enough!)
