Mark Barroca named PBA Player of the Week

The Star Hotshots are 2-0 to start the 2017 PBA Commissioner’s Cup. One of the reasons why is because of the steady play of their veteran guard Mark Barroca.

The Star playmaker was took home the Accel-PBA Press Corps Player of the Week for the period of March 20 to 26. He beat out Star teammate Peter June Simon, Meralco young guard Baser Amer and Jared Dillinger, Rain or Shine sophomore point guard Maverick Ahanmishi, Mahindra’s Ryan Arana, Alaska rookie forward Carl Cruz and TNT’s Jayson Castro for the weekly citation.

In Star’s two victories, Barroca averaged 12.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals.

The Hotshots, along with the Meralco Bolts, Alaska Aces and defending champion Rain or Shine Elasto Painters are the unbeaten teams so far in this conference.
