Mandaluyong City also launches a “mobile palengke” for its residents

Following the initiatives of different cities in helping residents easily get food and other necessities, Mandaluyong City also launched a “mobile palengke.” Places like Pasig, Makati, and Valenzuela have all launched their own versions of the market on wheels.

In a Facebook post by Mayor Menchie Abalos, she announced that a “mobile palengke” in Mandaluyong will start making its rounds around the city. She said that this initiative aims to avoid overcrowding in the wet markets amid the COVID-19 crisis.

The “mobile palengke” is also part of the collective initiative to stop and prevent the increase of COVID-19 cases in the city. The “mobile palengke” will go to different barangays, and will follow the schedule to be posted on social media.

As of writing, there have been 2,084 reported cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines, with 88 deaths and 49 recoveries.
