In celebration of the 3rd year showbiz anniversary of Phenomenal Star & Social Media Queen, Maine Mendoza, a whole-day unity activity aptly titled “Mainelandia 2018: A Unity Fun Fair” will be held on July 8, 2018 at the Circuit Makati Event Grounds, Hippodromo, Makati. Maine’s actual showbiz anniversary falls on 4th July when she first appeared in Eat Bulaga in 2015. This special event aims to gather all Maine fans/supporters to celebrate their ONE LOVE for Maine.

Organized by Maine fans/supporters themselves, Mainelandia 2018 hopes to unite people coming from different cross-sections and socio-demographics, both here and overseas, to promote solidarity, harmony, fun, and camaraderie as a manifestation of their love and support for Maine.

It is a well-known fact that Maine Mendoza fans/supporters traverse various socio-demographic lines and cross-sections in society, from children to senior citizens, professionals, OFWs, students, housewives, Broadway habitués, barangay dwellers (where she is exposed daily in the Juan for All, All for Juan segment of Eat Bulaga), people who claimed to have hurdled illness/depression/life challenges due to the presence of Maine (Yaya Dub/AlDub/Kalyeserye), among others, with access to social media or not, with membership to a particular fan club/association or none, whether here in the Philippines or in other corners of the globe.

The venue will be transformed into something of a county fair, featuring different interactive activities like booths, exhibits, games, amusement rides, movie viewing, and food stalls where participants are free to have fun and socialize with one another. The fair commences at 8:00 a.m. with registration followed by a celebration of the mass, a color parade, fair opening, movie screening, praise and worship, and concludes with a concert from 7:00 p.m. onwards with performances from Trisha Denise, Leanne and Naara, Better Days, Gracenote, Moonstar 88 and MYMP, as well as an open mic session where everyone in the audience is welcomed to perform.  Of course, being the main celebrant of this specially organized event, Maine herself is expected to grace Mainelandia 2018 with a performance as a final surprise to her fans/supporters.

As a fan-organized event, Mainelandia 2018 is likewise conceptualized as a fair-for-a-cause. The proceeds of the fair will go to a chosen charity as well as Maine’s very own “Humans of Barangay” (HoB) project which she launched in early April 2018 both in Facebook and Instagram, an inspired-driven photo essay/narrative (based on Brandon Stanton’s “Humans of New York”) that has already created ripple effects focusing on some important social issues. One concrete example of which is awareness to mental health, one of the advocacies that Maine herself has committed to after categorically making a stand on live tv regarding issues related to depression and how society ought to help those who are suffering from it.

Mainelandia 2018 hopes to animate an atmosphere of great fun and good camaraderie among those who genuinely love Maine, the charismatic girl whose meteoric rise to fame, courtesy of traditional and social media, surprised almost everyone, including Maine herself. This 3rd year showbiz anniversary is also celebrated with special interest because it also marks how Maine navigated through the first half of 2018 with aplomb in the wake of her open letter to fans (in the later part of 2017) that attracted so much curiosity in social media, and to say the least admiration, even from casual viewers who openly expressed their respect and high regard for her courage in speaking out her truth—considered a risky move and a rarity in the world of showbiz.

Maine continues to attract a great deal of interests in social media in the first half of 2018. Her social media postings have made the rounds of both print and online news services, her special tv appearances racked up over a million tweets even prior to airing, and her rare mall shows have filled up venues to the brim. With the second half of the year ushered in, Maine fans/supporters also await her career move in the sense that she has fairly recently expressed exploring and learning new things, consciously carving her own niche over and beyond the “Yaya Dub” persona of Eat Bulaga’s Kalyeserye but as Maine Mendoza herself, the solo artist who continues to dominate social media and coming out on her own.

There’s so much to celebrate in Mainelandia 2018! Come celebrate with us! Come one, come all!
