10 Movies That Need to be Watched on a Big Screen TV

Some movies are great, no matter where, when or how you watch them. However, there are some movies that simply do not get the justice they deserve when watched on a small screen. As convenient as it may be to watch movies on a mobile phone or a tablet, the enjoyment that comes with watching the following movies on a big screen simply cannot be compared (or so I think, anyway).

Here are some of the movies that I simply cannot enjoy as much unless I watch it on a big screen TV:

10 Movies That Need to be Watched on a Big Screen TV

10. Gravity (2013)

Gravity Movie

Naturally, movies set in space have to make the cut – and ‘Gravity’ is one of the best ones that I’ve seen so far. Not only did it really reel me in and stress me out, everything just looks so amazing on a big screen TV. I have to stress that it looks good on a TV because it was a bit too intense for me in the cinemas. I got a little woozy there, but at home on my Sony X8500D 4K HDR TV, it’s great!

9. The Walk (2015)

The Walk Movie

Surprisingly, I don’t know a lot of people who have seen ‘The Walk’, but it is one of the most inspiring movies I have ever seen. And those scenes of the actual walk? A. Ma. Zing.

8. Titanic

As cheesy as it is, you have to admit that ‘Titanic’ is epic. I actually re-watched it in the cinemas when they had their 15th anniversary(?) and it was still as beautiful as it was when I first watched it in the cinemas back in 1997.

7. Jurassic Park (1993)

Jurassic Park Movie

Speaking of 90s movies, ‘Jurassic Park’ is also on my list. While there are a lot of Jurassic Park movies out now, the first one is still my favorite because that scene with the T-Rex haunted me for a few years.

6. The Original Star Wars Trilogy

Star Wars Millennium Falcon Scene

It’s hard to pick a favorite ‘Star Wars’ movie from the original trilogy, so we’re gonna put all of them on here. They all deserve it anyway, especially if you have the remastered DVDs in your movie arsenal.

5. The Hobbit 2: The Desolation of Smaug (2013)

While all of ‘The Hobbit’ movies were great, nothing quite beats the epicness that came with seeing so much of Smaug for the first time and with so much golden action. Stunning!

4. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy

Lord of the Rings Gandalf

As with the original ‘Star Wars’ trilogy, it’s hard to pick a favorite when it comes to ‘Lord of the Rings’. My forever favorite is ‘Fellowship of the Ring’, but either way, all three movies look superb on a big screen.

3. Avatar (2009)Avatar Movie

I still remember the first time I watched ‘Avatar’ in 2009 and how in awe I was of it. When I watched it on a small screen, though, the magic practically vanished. This is one of those movies that really needs to be seen in big-screen-ville.

2. Thor (2011)

Thor Movie

‘Thor’ is another beautiful spectacle to watch on the big screen. Plus, the humour is great and it’s a great film for the whole family. Bring on the big screen TV!

1. Magic Mike

The ladies will understand… Hahaha. Totally kidding. Well, half-kidding. My real number one would be…

INCEPTION (2010)

Inception

Aside from being great on the eyes, ‘Inception’ tops my list because it got me talking for WEEKS after I first saw it – and to this day, I still have no idea what to make of the ending. What do you think really happened there? Would love to hear your thoughts – even now that it has already been 7 years since the movie came out. :p
