LUZVIMINDA, the acronym for the three major islands in the Philippines (i.e. LUzon, VIsayas, and MINDAnao), is the title of the food festival running at F1 Hotel Manila’s F Restaurant for the month of June. Headed by F Restaurant’s new Executive Chef, Chef Sau del Rosario, flavors for all corners of the country are showcased via slew of various buffet food selections. Top chefs representing each of the major islands join forces for LUZVIMINDA – Chef Martin Jickain represents Luzon, Chef Karl Noel of Casa Verde and Chef Sidney Uy of Frontgate represents Visayas, and Chef Ed Tuazon of Marco Polo Davao represents Mindanao.

Each of the chefs brought culinary dishes from their assigned region. The chefs worked closely among each other to offer only the best of the best from Luzon, Visayas, up to Mindanao. Additionally, they worked with local farmers to produce ingredients via organic means. This is something to note about this culinary expedition.

The When in Manila team was invited for a staycation at F1 Hotel Manila and have first taste of LUZVIMINDA at F Restaurant. Located at 3rd level of F1 Hotel Manila, we brought our empty tummies to attack this all-Pinoy buffet.

A highlight of the LUZVIMINDA food fare was Chef Sau’s Sisig Foie Gras. It may be a classic Kapampangan dish but with Chef Sau’s magic, it is definitely one of the stars of the buffet selection. Add to that the back story about Aling Lucing’s sisig that Chef Sau shared with us that night.

Of course, a Pinoy food festival is never complete without lechon. This Cebu Lechon is a definite head-turner at LUZVIMINDA.

This ginormous tuna from Gen San is not only a sight to see but also a fresh and delicious meal to devour. Sushi lovers will definitely swoon even only at the sight of this fish.

As a hardcore foodie sinner, I did not miss this sumptuous Crispy Pata and flavorful Chicken Inasal.

These are just some of the savory dishes you can find at LUZVIMINDA. Come sweets for my sweet, LUZVIMINDA has a good selection of desserts as well. Of course, the desserts represent the three major islands too.
