Ogie Diaz revealed on his vlog that according to sources, Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil, also known as LizQuen, have broken up.
“Actually, nakarating din sa’kin ‘yan na split na o break na sina Enrique Gil at Liza Soberano. Parang nag-ugat ito sa mga pronouncement o naging statement o mga nakaraang interviews ni Liza, never niyang binanggit si Enrique Gil,” Diaz said.
He added, “Tapos nung birthday ni Enrique wala rin greeting online. Pero nanatiling nananahimik sila pareho sa isyung ito. Parang ‘yun na lang ang konklusyon ng karamihan lalo na ng mga sumusubaybay sa LizQuen, kung wala na ba talaga sila.”
Soberano and Gil have been dating since 2014 but only confirmed it in 2019.
In the vlog, Diaz mentioned that his sources claim that it was Soberano’s choice to focus on her career. He also said that he isn’t sure that there is a third party involved. According to him, “‘Yan ang hindi natin alam.”
Earlier this year, Soberano confirmed that she is moving to Los Angeles for a career in Hollywood.
She is set to star in the upcoming horror film Lisa Frankenstein, which also stars Kathryn Newton, Cole Sprouse, and Carla Gugino. It is directed by Zelda Williams, the daughter of Robin and Marsha Williams, and written by Diablo Cody, who also wrote Juno and Jennifer’s Body.
“Hindi ko alam kung pareho nilang gusto ‘yun pero ang nakarating sa atin ay choice ni Liza na tutukan muna ang kanyang career programming, kaya wala na raw. Ang nakarating sa atin ay si Enrique Gil ‘yung nagpu-push pa na baka kaya, na baka posible pa ring maituloy, pwede naman niyang i-allow si Liza kung ang gusto ni Liza, na ito pa rin ang kanyang Hollywood dream pero sila pa rin,” Diaz said.
Soberano’s former talent manager expressed his opinion on the story. He said, “Sana hindi totoo na hiwalay na sila. Sana kung meron mang gap or ‘di pagkakaunawaan [ay] ma-patch up.”
He also said, “Kung totoo man po, isa po akong nalungkot, wa echos kasi I’m rooting for both of them na ang ending nila kasal kasi alam ko kung gaano kamahal ni Quen si Liza, ganoon din naman si Liza ka Quen. Pero siyempre itong case na ‘to, hindi natin alam kung ano ‘yung rason ng kanilang split up. Pero wala pa namang announcement so ‘yun ang ating aabangan.“
Breakup rumors

Rumors of a breakup have followed Soberano and Gil.
Soberano denied their breakup in June 0f 2022. When asked about it, she said, “Quen is fine. I was hoping someone will ask me about that. There are rumors about we are parting, but we’re fine, we’re totally fine.”
Gil also put rumors to rest when he posted a birthday greeting for Soberano this January on Instagram. He wrote, “We might be worlds apart, but you’ve never been closer to my heart. To the most beautiful soul in the world. To my best friend and baby [emoji] i love you so much [emoji] Happy Birthday!!”
Soberano shared the greeting on her Instagram Stories, saying, “Thank you for being there for me even when it’s hard.”
Gil quashed rumors once again this April after his contract signing with ABS-CBN.
He said, “We’re good, we’re good. She’s just really busy with her stuff there. I am going to be visiting her maybe when my schedule clears up. I think she’s coming back here. But yeah, we’re good.”
