While it could be hard for anyone to racially profile someone as recognizable as Lindsay Lohan, the actress claimed that she was racially profiled on her trip back to the US from Turkey at an interview with Good Morning Britain.

The actress shared that her trip back to the United States was interrupted after she was stopped by a woman working at the airport while at the Heathrow Airport in London.

Lindsay, who was wearing a headscarf at the time, was asked to show her passport to the officer. Upon reading the actress’ name, the worker “immediately apologized” but “asked to remove her headscarf”.

Lindsay shared that it never happened to her before, saying:

“I got double checked until she realized.”

“But what scared me was in that moment, how would another woman who doesn’t feel comfortable taking off her headscarf feel?”

The actress shared that she wore the headscarf out of “personal respect” for the country, and continued to wear it until she reached New York, being inspired by the styles of “Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn.”
