Lettering And Calligraphy 101 With Ella Lama And Geli Balcruz
For the love of letters, Ella Lama and Geli Balcruz have designed a lettering and calligraphy workshop for beginners, complete with beginner’s kit and exercise activities. Both ladies have been sharing their passion for letters and with their workshop, anyone can now learn how to do lettering and calligraphy (with enough practice that is). As they always tell their students, “all it takes is constant practice and curiosity for the craft.”

The workshop is conceptualized to educate people that lettering and calligraphy are TWO DIFFERENT DISCIPLINES. Simply put, lettering is the art of DRAWING letters while calligraphy is the art of WRITING beautiful letters. Reading tutorials is helpful but with Ella and Geli’s workshop, they will personally check on your works and give useful tips like how to clean your brushes, how to do lettering that requires curving, etc. Also, it’s not about the brand of tools to use. They have a lot of tips on which inexpensive tools you can use instead. They encourage students not to focus on the brand of tools but to make use of what they have.
