It’s official: Rep. Leni Robredo is our vice president!
According to local reports, the official count of the House of Representatives saw Leni lead with 14,418,817 votes over Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, who earned a total of 14,155,344.
It was a close fight as Robredo edged out Marcos with just 263,473 votes.
Robredo was declared the winner after the National Board of Canvassers, in presence of Congress, finished tallying a total of 166 certificates of canvass this Friday.
Rep. Leni’s win also coincides with the 58th birthday of her husband, the late Jesse Robredo, former DILG Secretary.
