Aiming to create a dynamic student community, almost 4,000 Lasallian freshmen from De La Salle University-Dasmariñas (DLSU-D) will gather for the first Lasallian Youth Summit (LYS) at the Ugnayang La Salle on July 11, with the theme: “Empowering Lasallian Youth, the De La Salle Way.”

The Council of Student Organizations (CSO) in partnership with Office of Student Services Introduction to La Salle Program spearheads LYS 2014. World’s Most Outstanding Volunteer Alexandra Eduque, advocates Sabrina Ongkiko, Toni Zuniga, Jay Jaboneta, Br. Angelo Paragas, FSC and Br. Arian Lopez, FSC from De La Salle Philippines will share their experiences and ideas regarding three core topics: social involvement, power of volunteerism, and the ‘De La Salle way.’

According to CSO Vice President and LYS Project Head Angelito Miguel Adrias, LYS aspires to encourage the youth to respond on various social issues and ignite active participation among Lasallians by joining several student organizations within and outside DLSU-D.

The speakers are expected to discuss their views regarding the present condition of the society, its issues, and possible solutions. The ‘power of volunteerism’ seminar, according to Adrias, will help the students realize their potentials through the concept of volunteerism.

Also, event partners involved in LYS includes the BusinessWorld, 99.5 Play FM, WhenInManila.com, Art.D.Co, Nailsand Wellness Spa, Pony Philippines, Bikram Yoga Alabang and Khay’s Desserts and Cafe.
