Lamb of God Live in Manila 2015: The Palaces Still Burn

Last March 06, 2015, “Rednecks” and “Blood Junkies” “Vigiled” at the World Trade Center, Pasay City to feel the “Wrath” and receive the “Sacrament” once again as Randy Blythe and the rest of Lamb of God preached the “New American Gospel” for the third time in the Philippines.

The band launched with Desolation before revving up with the mosh pit inducing tracks Black Label, Redneck, Now You’ve Got Something to Die For, Omerta, and Contractor. Their hard hitting classics Hourglass, Walk with Me in Hell, and Laid to Rest were also played, cranking the place up some more. From the very first song to the last, every minute was a killer. The five piece unit from Richmond, Virginia showed no mercy in their performance and never “Set to Fail.”

From John Campbell’s thunderous bass, Chris Adler’s kick-ass drumming, Mark Morton and Will Adler’s groove-laden-buzz-saw riffing, and Randy Blythe’s gravel-throated vocals, the sonic brutality Lamb of God unleashed was a battering ram ready to pummel straight in ‘yer face. You could feel the raw power and aggressiveness on every barrage of riffs. Like a malevolent beast capable of wanton destruction.

Randy Blythe told the audience that he went out and saw the crazy $%#*$ traffic and was amazed at how our jeepneys conquered the road. He jokingly added that he wants one to bring to their hometown of Virginia and use it to tour with the band. “Its like, here comes Lamb of God!!!” said Blythe, describing how he would drive a jeepney in the US.

The Lamb of God Live in Manila 2015 show only proves that the metal community in the Philippines is alive and well—“A Warning” to the naysayers saying that metal music is long gone and who like putting their “Foot to the Throat.” Lamb of God really cemented their place as one of the leading forces of the “New Wave of American Heavy Metal” movement. A force to be reckoned with.
