Armed with a mission to contribute to a significant change in the skateboarding industry, DC emerged as a premium skateboarding brand that creates innovative footwear that aim to elevate skateboarding performance.

Over two decades later, DC is now a global brand with a product line that includes men’s, women’s, and kid’s skateboarding lifestyle and performance shoes, apparel, snowboards, boots, outerwear, accessories, and so on. But to this day, skateboarding remains to be the cornerstone, lifeblood, and inspiration of DC.

Throughout the years, it has been steadfast in supporting the skateboarding community through supporting various skate prodigies and hosting events that promote the sport.

In keeping with its vision, DC joined the world in celebration of skateboarding by hosting this year’s Go Skateboarding Day last June 21 with the aim of strengthening the skate community in the country by promoting it and supporting skaters of all disciplines.

Celebrated by millions of skaters around the globe, DC thought it very much in line with its thrust in supporting the community by making sure that the Go Skateboarding Day in the country was as exciting and meaningful for all skaters.

Knowing no bounds, skaters of all disciplines, regardless of board shape and riding style all gathered to join the push parade. With the help of Ayala Land and the Makati City Government, a portion of JP Rizal Avenue was road blocked to allow skaters a blissful morning push in an otherwise congested street leading to the Mountain Dew Skatepark at Circuit Makati.

At the skate park, outstanding skaters were recognized for their style and skills. For the Game of Skate category, Gene Quilantang came in 1st and Leon Velasco at 2nd. The Best Grind went to Sammy Carerra, while Mark Feliciano came in 2nd and Marvin Basinal at 3rd. Highest Ollie went to Rasheed Al Rasheed and Lornel Bihasa who came in 2nd place. The Longest Gap went to Kenneth Reyes and Lornel Bihasa came in 2nd again. For the Best Run, 1st place went to Mark Feliciano, 2nd place went to Robert Franco, and Jeff Gonzales in 3rd place.

Though slowly gaining popularity nowadays, skateboarding has always been on an uphill-downhill route as it remains to be a niche sport. However, there is no stopping DC in its efforts to truly make skateboarding a widely accepted sport by continuously producing high-quality skateboarding footwear, by supporting promising skateboarding athletes, as well as through hosting event such as the Go Skateboarding Day to celebrate the sport.
