KC revealed that she will now be part of the US-based film “Asian Persuasion,” a project that was announced last July 2021. She will be replacing Toni Gonzaga who had backed out due to “schedule conflicts.”

On Instagram, KC shared an article headline from Variety magazine which included a picture of herself among other cast members as she confirmed to fans and friends that filming is already underway. “Onto day 3 of filming @asianpersuasionfilm! Thank you for joining us on this new journey. Grateful to be part of this Asian-American project, with our amazing cast & crew,” she wrote.

Dante and KC will be playing Mickey and Avery who are a divorced Asian American couple who live in New York City. Mickey, a slacker, owns a run-down coffee shop in Queens after letting go of his dream to be a fine-dining chef due to his parents’ sudden death while he was still in college. Meanwhile, Avery is a career-driven woman who owns a fashion design business in the Lower East Side. The film will follow Mickey who schemes to get Avery to marry someone else just so he could avoid giving her financial support that he cannot afford, only to realize that he wants to have a second chance with her.

What’s exciting about this film is that it will feature original songs performed by Asian American artists while the musical score will be composed by Filipino American record producer Illmind!

“Asian Persuasion” will be directed and produced by Tony Award-winning theatrical producer Jhett Tolentino and written by Mike Ang. The two hope that this movie will be able to “elevate the Asian narrative” amid all the hate crimes against the Asian-American community that have been going on as of late.

The lead cast also includes Kevin Kreider, Paolo Montalban, Scarlett Sher, Celia Au, Geneva Carr, and Jax Bacani, with Yam Concepcion, Rachel Alejandro, Tony Labrusca, Black Eyed Peas’ Apl.de.Ap, and many others being featured actors in the film.
