This Friday, #WeBlockAsOne became a top trend on Twitter as fans of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla showed up in full force to defend the couple.
The hashtag was used to call on the mass reporting of blogger Banat By who attacked the two stars for defending ABS-CBN.

Banat By’s video was later shared by Mocha Uson’s Facebook page, which only further incited fans of the love team. KathNiel supporters then united to report the videos so that they would be taken down from Facebook and YouTube.

Both Kathryn and Daniel have been vocal in their support of the network, even sharing personal messages on the issue. Kathryn recently went viral talking about the ABS-CBN shutdown as an issue of labor, public health, and press freedom.
“‘Wag na po natin palalain ang inequality. Ang choice, di lang ‘yan dapat sa may pera,” she quoted her character from Hello, Love, Goodbye in one part of her message.
While Daniel defended his and his fellow actors’ right to speak their minds.
“Bago ho ako maging artista, tao at Pilipino ho muna ako,” he said. “Kaya sana ‘wag n’yo po ipagkait sa amin ang karapatan namin na magpahayag ng saloobin.”
