Controversies surrounding his relationship with Ellen Adarna aside, John Lloyd Cruz is first and foremost an artist.
And we’re not just talking about his acting, here — when he’s not under the spotlight, JLC is an avid art collector, making friends in the local art scene such as Romeo Lee, who once took him under his wing.
And now, that tutelage seems to have paid off as John Lloyd recently joined his first ever art exhibit, under the name “Idan Cruz”.
Idan is his non-showbiz nickname, used by his family and old friends.
The artist known as Idan is part of the Ingress/Egress show at the Underground Gallery in Makati Cinema Square, a group exhibit showing a collection of works from 19 artists.
Idan went for a mixed media art installation, featuring photographs he’s taken over a period of time, as well as a video meant to be watched in the fashion of James Turrell’s “Skyspace”.
The exhibit ends on October 14.
