Earlier this month, Jinri Park opened up about her new life in Australia, where is she based now with her Filipino-Australian husband.

The former actress, model, and radio DJ described her new life as a 180, saying on Instagram, “Honestly when I moved to Sydney I didn’t know what I wanted to do. I felt like I was back to zero, with not knowing what career path I’d want to take. I didn’t feel like I fit in that glamorous life of being a model anymore, and wanted to move past it to something I would grow into. Maybe even spend the rest of my life doing.”

In that post, she revealed, “Now that I’m in my 30s, life has changed 180! I got married, moved to Australia, and now…got a job! For this past week I worked as a trainee for a restaurant being a waitress (I did graduate with a degree in HRM and worked also at Your Local for about a year as a Maitre d).”

Life looks good for Park, but it turned out there were negative comments about her job as a waitress. In a new Instagram post, Park said, “I just wanted to say, I chose to be a waitress and didn’t want to just be comfortable with what I have. My parents did offer to pay for my tuition and I could just easily get a student load with my credit. But let me clarify that I chose to work because I wanted to and not because I have to.”

She added, “All those people who are saying it’s karma that I’m a waitress now, I’m pretty sure there’s nothing wrong with having that job. I chose it because I remembered it to be enjoyable for me (I feel like I’m playing a real-life diner dash!!). I think it’s quite fun and exciting, I don’t know why so many people have negative comments about it.”

Park ended her post with, “Anyways, if you think that I’m currently miserable with” karma” acting upon me, I’d just like to say I’m so happy now more than when I was in showbiz. I have a fun job, a great loving husband, and a goal for my future! What more can a girl want.”
