The JAYS brand from Sweden has come up with their award winning design and sound quality and created a version that matches its controls on any Android mobile device. Build/Packaging: As we all know, JAYS has outdone most competition towards its packaging. Really nice and durable packaging without being too big or too small. The usual gripe with the JAYS packaging though is with how difficult it is to open if you don’t have any object to press the lock with. Nonetheless, really great and complete packaging with all the necessary tips for finding your fit. Packaging from JAYS has always been cool and eye catching.
The build quality of the a-JAYS One+ is good but not anywhere near stellar. The earpiece is made from an all plastic material which may feel too light, but also feels durable enough for daily use. Cable durability is above average by the fact that the flat tangle-free cables are made thick enough to feel very secure of sudden tugs. The plug itself of the a-JAYS One+ and the restrain are also well made with how the whole plug and cable restrain are made with an all rubber body. The single button control also fares really good. The build of the button and control is much more trustworthy than the stock Apple earbuds with remote.
Sound Quality: I noticed how the a-JAYS One+ has a more forward mids than the a-JAYS Four that I reviewed previously which is the version made for iOS devices. I noticed that the a-JAYS One+ has a more high-mid focus than the more V-shaped sound signature of the a-JAYS Four. The a-JAYS One+ focuses more on highs extension and the forward high-mids while still retaining strong bass impact and power. It still has a familiar V-shaped sound, but with a boosted high-mids. This is slightly a good thing by the fact that, at least the vocals won’t be too pulled back now than because of a too much V-shaped sound. You won’t be cranking the volume too loud chasing the vocals. Nonetheless, the a-JAYS One+ price to performance ratio is pretty much balanced out. It isn’t stellar, but it isn’t bad at all.
