Jay Contreras Makes Cryptic Post After Kamikazee Gets Kicked Out of a Sorsogon Event

Kamikazee vocalist Jay Contreras made a cryptic post on his Instagram account, days after the OPM band got kicked out of the Kasanggayahan Festival in Casiguran, Sorsogon last October 1 due to an alleged “attitude problem,” according to the governor.

Wala tayong magagawa, bayad ‘yun kaso may mga attitude,” Sorsogon Governor Boboy Hamor told the crowd prior to the band’s scheduled performance that Sunday night.

Okay?”

He also said that he didn’t make Kamikazee stay anymore and sent them immediately to the airport so they could fly back to Manila despite having already paid them to play a set.

Huwag ganu’n na tayo’y bastusin,” he said.

It is unclear what exactly had happened between the band and the governor but according to reports, Dong Mendoza, a Public Information Officer of Sorsogon, claimed that the governor got irked by the band becoming a no-show for a planned pictorial in the province’s 16,000 blue roses attraction.

Kamikazee never issued a public statement regarding what happened but Jay posted three black and white portraits of himself in succession which he captioned: “I choose love.”

Kamikazee is known for their hits “Narda,” “Martyr Nyebera,” “Huling Sayaw,” “Unang Tikim,” and “Chiksilog” among plenty others. They have been performing for 23 years now.
