Taytay is a developing town where business and culture are thriving. Creative entrepreneurs used that fusion and made it the home of many hole-in-the-wall restaurants, cafes and other art hubs. That being said, it is no wonder why people from Manila who are looking for a nice place to shoot include Taytay as one of their choices. If you happen to be around the area after a long drive and you want to eat somewhere cozy and Instagrammable, try Jamie’s Cakery and Kitchen.
If you think that “cozy and instagrammable” equates to “costly”, you might actually be surprised by the price range at Jamie’s; it is far from expensive. In fact, the majority of what they’re selling costs less than 100 pesos — huge plus points for those who are hungry or those who simply want to take a lot of food photos.
Jamie’s is actually a really small restaurant. Despite its size, though, customers are still into it. In fact, its size adds to the effect of the whole ambiance. Upon entering, you will see all things pastel– wall, tables and chairs, the plate of the food, and many more! If you think pastel is cute, you will already appreciate it as it is – even more so when you see their sofa, pillows, and mattresses, though. The homey vibes and compact space make it ideal for dates or intimate bonding sessions with friends. There are also tables outside if in case the store gets packed.
Of course, the restaurant also takes pride in their food. Everything is made based on their own recipes and is 100% photogenic. Don’t be deceived by the price; the food tastes great! Our favorite was the Bud-imbap, a mixture of Budbod (a specialty in Rizal) and Bibimbap (a famous dish in Korea).
Bud-imbap – Php99
To cap things off, we enjoyed their Birthday Cake Milkshake as our dessert – a tall glass filled with creamy vanilla shake tossed in with some birthday cake, sprinkles, and a cone. It wasn’t too sweet, which is why we enjoyed it even more.
Birthday Cake Milkshake – Php90
Jamie’s also serves cakes (their specialty!). These sweets are special because they follow their own cake recipes unlike nearby restaurants/cafes who only serve sourced ones from other bakeries. So, while you’re there, taste their chocolate cake or cheesecake. We tried the chocolate cake and it’s absolutely decadent.
Take note that the slice is insanely big, so it’s actually perfect for sharing with your friends or a date.
Chocolate Cake – Php90
Other dishes you might want to try:

With Jamie’s, just think of the 3 C’s: Cheap, Cozy, and Camera-worthy. Go ahead and visit Jamie’s. We promise you that it’s not a bad stopover after an adventure around the area.–
