It was a sad day when it was announced that Ross Butler, who plays the role of Reggie Mantle in ‘Riverdale’, will need to be replaced in the second season of the show due to scheduling conflicts. While this is completely understandable, seeing as how popular he has suddenly become on TV right now, it still made my heart break a little. Now, the big question is: who will replace Ross on the show?
Since I’m not that well-versed on hot youthful actors today (in my day, it definitely would have been Ed Westwick hands down! :p), I asked some of my friends who they thought would be a good fit and here are 5 of their recommendations. Let’s see what you think of them.
5 Actors Who Could Replace Reggie Mantle in ‘Riverdale’
5. Patrick Schwarzenegger
Patrick Schwarzenegger (yes, this is Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son) played the role of Lily Collins’ douchebag boyfriend in ‘Stuck in Love’. And since Reggie has a similar reputation, we think he’d fit the role well.
4. Jake Thomas
I haven’t seen Jake Thomas on TV since his Lizzie McGuire days or on the big screen since ‘A.I.: Artificial Intelligence’; but since former child stars seem to be doing so well nowadays, we’d love to see what he can do now.
3. Dylan O’Brien
Dylan O’Brien is famous for his roles on ‘The Maze Runner’ movies and ‘Teen Wolf’. Even though he’s more of a good guy in ‘The Maze Runner’, we would to see him take on a different kind of role as Reggie Mantle.
2. Tyler Posey
Coz come on. Why wouldn’t you want to see Tyler Posey on Riverdale? :p
1. Booboo Stewart
Now, if we’re looking for someone who kind of still looks like Ross Butler, then our bet is totally on Booboo Stewart from ‘Descendants’. (You may also know him from Twilight and ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’.)
