What truly sets Jackdaw apart, though, is that they are a firm supporter of Mother Nature. Founded in 2015, they integrate natural elements to class and style. While other providers of wood watches tend to use either recycled drift wood or bamboo in their products, the owner, Paolo Sarmiento, shares that he handpicks the particular species of luxury wood (like the African Zebrawood) to be used for each of their designs.

While this makes the products a bit pricier overall, it also ensures that you get the best quality possible. Paolo also shares that he always researches on different kinds of wood to match the look and personality of each watch.

Reaching heights of up to 40 meters, mature Zebrawoods jostle their way to the very top of crowded canopies where their minute leaves absorb enough sunlight to generate much of the energy needed to support its massive bulk below. It’s also a decorative exotic wood. In the past, it was used in Cadillac and Mercedez Benz automobiles. Because of its hardness, it can also be used for skis and tool handles.

This black wooden watch is no longer available, but Jackdaw has several new models coming in a few weeks from now that are also made of different kinds of luxury wood.
