On Monday night, President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the enhanced community quarantine for the entire island of Luzon to address the threat of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The enhanced community quarantine will run until April 12.

Based on the guidelines released by the Palace last Saturday, enhanced community quarantine means:

  • home quarantine will be implemented in all households
  • transportation will be suspended
  • provision for food and essential health services will be regulated
  • the presence of uniformed personnel to enforce quarantine procedures will be heightened

As Filipinos follow the orders to stay at home, iWant announced that it will be providing its wide collection of more than 1,000 movies for FREE for a limited time.

According to ABS-CBN’s press release, what you have to do is download the iWant app on iOs or Android. Then, you can enjoy movies like Vice Ganda’s “Gandarrapiddo: The Revenger Squad,” “Beauty and the Bestie,” “Super Parental Guardians,” “Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin,” “Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy,” as well as Ai-Ai delas Alas’ “Tanging Ina” series.

People staying at home who are in the mood for gut-punching drama can pick from “No Other Woman,” “The Mistress,” “One More Chance,” “The Unmarried Wide,” “One More Try,” and “The Love Affair.”

iWant’s treasure trove of classic ‘kilig’ films also include Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz’s “A Very Special Love,” “You Changed My Life,” and “It Takes a Man and a Woman” and Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla’s “Barcelona,” “Crazy Beautiful You,” “She’s Dating the Gangster,” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”

Spend some quality time with the kids and parents with “Feng Shui,” “Unexpectedly Yours,” “Seven Sundays,” and “Four Sisters and a Wedding.” Also included in iWant’s library are indie hits such as “Heneral Luna,” “That Thing Called Tadhana,” and “Kita Kita.”

These are just some of the over 1,000 free titles users can stream on iWant, which has the biggest library of Filipino movies and TV shows in the country.

Users can also visit iwant.ph to watch these movies for free. For updates, like www.facebook.com/iWant, and follow @iwant on Twitter and @iwantofficial on Instagram, and subscribe to www.youtube.com/iWantPH.

The Philippines has so far recorded 142 COVID-19 cases, including 12 deaths, according to the Department of Health.

Duterte’s decision comes after Senator Sherwin Gatchalian, Interior Secretary Eduardo Año and Panelo proposed for a total lockdown of Metro Manila just two days into the implementation of a general community quarantine of the region.
