It is with great pride and pleasure to tell you all about another certified Philippine icon – Intercontinental Hotel Manila. They are celebrating their 45th Anniversary this month, so we thought the timing was perfect to feature them this week!

For the typical Pinoy worker who patiently journeys through Edsa on a daily basis (like me), if you pass by Ayala, then I’m sure you’re familiar with Intercontinental Hotel Manila. Have you ever dreamed or wondered on how it felt like to spend a night or two in this iconic hotel? To give you a glimpse on how it looks and feels to stay in one of the country’s best hotels, we hope you hang-around with us for a few minutes to take you on a quick photo tour to show you our latest hotel staycation at Intercontinental Hotel Manila.

As you all may know, Frank and I have already visited countless hotels, resorts and destinations all over the country. Now, we can confidently say that through our experiences, we can tell whether a hotel is good and up to the standards or not. Despite the countless luxury hotels in Makati and its surrounding cities, I can confidently say that Intercontinental Hotel Manila still reigns as one of Manila’s Best hotels and one of my top favorites ever! For our feature this week, we’ll do our best to show you why ……

What makes a great hotel?

Is it with the size of the whole property? The well maintained and landscaped gardens? The grandeur of its lobby and luxurious interiors? The size of its ballroom? The food perhaps and the chefs who create such gastronomic wonders? HHmmmmm

….. for us, it’s not about what we see, but how we feel after check- out… that “lasting impression”

You see, here at Intercontinental Hotel Manila, the rooms may not be extra spacious as compared with the newer hotels….

….. but they do guarantee carefree and relaxing stays!

Our visit at Intercontinental Hotel Manila made me love the IHG Group even more. They really know how to treat their guests well! Hands down.

I love how Intercontinental Hotel Manila focused on the little details… the details which matter most.

Their pillow menu enables you to pick your desired pillow softness for maximum comfort whenever you sleep. Their linens were all soft and smelled so good!

We couldn’t help but notice the softness of their large bath towels. The size was also huge enough and felt so warm and comforting. It made every shower experience more refreshing. The experience was far different from the other 5 Star hotels we stayed-in.

They also have the best Housekeeping staff! They’re very thoughtful and attentive to our every need. They replenished items according to our preference. They were even sensitive enough to know where we wanted our trash bins to be placed. That’s how great they are! If they feel you consume a lot of water, they will leave an extra bottle or 2 so you won’t have to call guest services anymore. Same goes with your coffee/tea/sugar/creamer consumption. They will gladly provide extra sachets for you. We love the way how they made us feel at home and pampered. No wonder they have so many loyal clients! =)

Their turndown service is also the best! After spending the whole day taking photos, we felt so relaxed when we got back in our room. It looked all tidy with the lights dimmed and the bed linen was also neatly arranged that it felt so relaxing to glide under the sheets!

We were so impressed with their housekeeping staff that we made an effort to get to know one of the people behind it.

Meet Sir Cesar. He has been working at Intercontinental Hotel Manila‘s Housekeeping Department for over 25 years! We felt how proud he was with his chosen career. Sir Cesar said he still feels eager to work everyday at Intercontinental Hotel Manila. We felt very honored to meet him!

Their elevator service was also very quick and reliable! Their guests services hotline was also very prompt and always ready to attend to our requests.

Despite being accessible to Makati’s major malls, you’ll never think of going out when at Intercontinental Hotel Manila for everything you need is right at your finger tips.

During sundown, we highly recommend you lounge at the Club Intercontinental. This is where VIPs and businessmen usually meet and hang-out. You can have access here depending on the type of room you book.
