HUAWEI MateBook 13: the Perfect Laptop for the New Normal

2020 for me has been….. *sigh *sigh. I have no words to describe it for I only have a crazy rollercoaster of emotions going on. I know everyone is currently going through something right now. I am feeling tremendous financial strain due to cancelled projects in my freelance work. I have a hundred reasons to just give up but instead, I choose to keep moving up. So what’s my plan?  First off, I take care of my health since the goal now is to stay alive until this is over. 2^nd, open new doors and opportunities to earn. I’m an entrepreneur by heart and 8 years ago, I’ve decided to be my own boss to have total control of my time. Being a Digital Nomad has been one of my best life decisions since I have unlimited means to earn.

The current situation is different though because I’m not used to purely working from home as I’ve always enjoyed working while travelling abroad.  And so, as I adjust to this “new normal,” I wanted a fresh new start so I’ve decided to upgrade my game by upgrading all my devices that are also “new normal” ready. Btw last week, I upgraded my internet plan to 120Mbps from 60Mbps so I can surf and stream faster. Online events and meetings have replaced traditional events so having a faster internet connection is indeed vital for us digital professionals.

Aside from upgrading my internet plan, I’ve decided to let my beloved old laptop rest since it’s been 5 years and it’s now so slow with battery always fluctuating. My laptop couldn’t keep up with my work requirements anymore, so it’s time for a change… and I’m proud to say that I found the perfect MATE by switching to the HUAWEI Matebook 13!

I’ve been using it for about 3 weeks now and it’s been working well. I’m even using it now as I write this feature.

Yes to laptops with touchscreen! I find its Finger Gesture Screenshot feature to be so useful. All I have to do is perform a three-finger downward swipe gesture then complete the screenshot by gently swiping my fingers to the shape of the screenshot I want.

I love the 3:2 aspect ratio display. It feels amazingly comfortable to work with this kind of aspect ratio. I realized I prefer this than wide screens.

It’s a function of their Huawei Share which lets you control multiple connected devices on a single display.  All you have to do is switch on your smartphone’s NFC then gently tap on the HUAWEI Share icon of your laptop to launch the Multi-screen Collaboration feature.

With this feature, you’ll get to view and manipulate your smartphone on your laptop screen. You can also transfer files and photos at lightning speed. I find this so useful since I don’t have to look on my smartphone anymore while working. Saves me time and energy.

The Fingerprint Power Button of the HUAWEI MateBook 13 also serves as a Fingerprint scanner for added security. The built-in webcam of the HUAWEI MateBook 13 is also located on the centre top of the screen making it ideal for online meetings.
