At This Tagaytay Hotel, You’ll Find a Heated Pool, Hearty Pinoy Meals, and Peaceful Views

Tagaytay remains to be one of the city dweller’s favorite place to head to for a peaceful and relaxing weekend staycation away from the bustle of Metro Manila. As a one-stop destination, Tagaytay can easily cure one’s travel bug and also provide respite for those who want to escape the sweltering afternoon heat and stress of city life. So the moment I knew that a quick getaway was what I needed, it was no question that I was going to take that road trip down to the south. I packed my bags, put on a warm sweater, and drove all the way to Hotel Casiana.

Hotel Casiana is one of the newest properties situated along the Tagaytay-Nasugbu main highway, having opened its doors in December 2020. This ten-story Scandinavian-inspired hotel that is fully managed by Enderun Hotels is definitely not to be judged based on outward appearance; despite its rather simple facade, Hotel Casiana features a ton of upscale amenities that families, friends, and business travelers will enjoy.

Personally, I’m not that hard-to-please when it comes to hotel accommodations. As long as the room I’m staying in is clean and cozy, my staycation is already made. But there were a ton of things I ended up falling in love with at Hotel Casiana—the first being its delicious Filipino meals.

Of course, what’s a trip to Tagaytay without munching on a comforting bowl of Bulalo? The version served to us for lunch at the hotel’s restaurant was so rich and flavorful and I was happy that they didn’t skimp on the veggies. I was also pleasantly surprised with how huge the serving was; my two companions and I hardly finished half of it!

Not to be missed is the Lechon Kawali either. Each bite of pork was juicy and crispy that I didn’t notice how much I had eaten until I was almost through with my bowl of rice. You’ll really have to hit a pause on your diet if you ever dine in here!

Another great feature of this hotel is the cafĂ© located right beside the restaurant. There’s enough seats and tables for you to conduct your online meetings or to just chat with your companions over great coffee—and I mean it when I say “great.” The cafĂ© has an expansive coffee menu of hot, cold, and ice blended drinks, and you can even add flavored syrups. The iced cafĂ© latte with hazelnut syrup I had here honestly tasted just as good as my go-to drink at an international coffee chain.

When in Tagaytay, we’re always after rooms with an unobstructed view of the lush nature. All 100 rooms at Hotel Casiana promises this, and even allows you to relish the refreshing breeze at your own spacious balcony. I loved welcoming the sunrise just seated out there on a chair and reading my book.

The rooms are also very cozy with a lot of space to walk around, though I didn’t really do much of that because, as soon as I lied down on my oh-so-comfy bed, I completely refused to get up. I wanted to stay snuggled up under the soft covers the whole day!

Also worth mentioning is how every room comes equipped with an air purifier with HEPA filter to ensure our safety against viruses during our vacation. There’s no way we could ever be bored too, thanks to the Android TVs that have pre-installed entertainment apps like Netflix, YouTube, and Spotify. And yup, there’s free wifi all around the hotel too!

I was also told that some rooms are equipped with smart toilets like the ones we see in Japan. Unfortunately, ours didn’t have one, so I’m definitely making sure that I’ll get the room that has one in my next visit.

Now, on to the main feature that every guest at Hotel Casiana comes for: the heated pool.

Not a lot of people would actually think about swimming when in Tagaytay particularly because of its chilly atmosphere and that’s what makes this hotel stand out. I’ll just have to warn you that once you take a dip, you’ll never want to get out again. It’s the perfect way to cap off the day!

Hotel Casiana also offers banquets and conference rooms for weddings, parties, and corporate events. It also has a fully-equipped gym and spa, indoor children’s playground, an alfresco area, and a bar where you can unwind over cocktails, wine, or beer. Its strategic location also makes it convenient to head out to eat, shop, or sightsee around Tagaytay.

So the next time you’re looking for a place for a quick getaway near Manila, you can be sure that Hotel Casiana will make you feel at home.
