Their signature Crispy Bagnet Kare-Kare is something that even a person who doesn’t like nuts (like me) will want a second round of. The creamy peanut sauce paired with the tender meat and leafy greens made me go wow. Oh, and don’t forget the bagoong that comes with it! Their bagoong perfects the dish.
Bicol Express
Apart from kare-kare, here’s another saucy ulam for you to have at home: Bicol Express. I claim this as my favorite from their offerings. Boy, the spiciness of the dish blends just right with the coconut milk, never covering its taste nor making it nakakaumay. I especially love how the meat doesn’t lose its flavor while still being tender.
Spicy Salmon Pesto Pasta
I’m not kidding when I say that the Spicy Salmon Pesto is the epitome of hindi tinipid. If you’re so done with takeout pasta, where the number of clams or shrimps are counted by the gram; then this one’s for you. The fish, sauce, and other ingredients are never lacking for the noodles; and the savory flavor is just right. It also brings about a little bit of spiciness to spike up the flavor.
Leche Flan
What is a meal without dessert? ALPHA’s offers Filipino favorites that are too good for us to maintain our diets (huhu). First comes the Leche Flan, the creamy and soft texture of which melts in your mouth. It’s a bit sweet, though; so if you prefer lighter desserts like me, the next one would be a better fit for you.
Maja Blanca
Their Maja Blanca has a smooth and delicate base topped with latik that is not too sweet nor overpowering. If you’re someone who likes cold dessert, you can also leave it in the fridge for a few hours before eating it!
