LOOK: Family Grows an Avocado So Big That It Won a World Record

A family just attained the world record for world’s heaviest avocado, and it’s got our mouths watering!

The family, who is based in Maui, Hawaii, was successfully able to grow the fruit that ended up weighing 5.6 pounds (2.54 kilograms) – around 15 times the weight of an average avocado. And it’s probably thanks to their 20-feet avocado tree which they’ve had for over 10 years!

It was back in 2018 when the family first attempted to break the world record but failed to do so because they weren’t able to meet the Guinness World Records’ requirements for the verification process. They had their second attempt certified in December 2018 and were only able to receive their certificate this month.

When asked what they did to grow avocados that huge, the family just said that they “kind of just leave it alone.”

The record-breaking avocado was later used for a guacamole party for them and their friends.
